Mission: To assist our local schools with needs that currently fall outside of budgets and better the lives and education of students.
Needs: At this time, we have requests for children’s clothing, dollars to pay off unpaid lunch accounts and various school supplies for classrooms. Our task force sent out 323 letters to our surrounding GRAR schools in May and to date, we’ve had requests from close to 40 local school systems – totaling over $40,000 in requested items!
Donations: Look for the schoolhouse-shaped boxes at retailers and offices around our area to donate! Checks can be written to “GRAR” – Greater Regional Alliance of Realtors OR funds can be dropped into “Schoolhouse Banks”.
Get Involved: The Community Involvement Task Force that supports “Schoolhouse” needs agent support & commitment, as well as local business contributions: whether matching cash donations or furnishing supplies. Our goal is to eliminate hunger, cold and the lack of needed learning materials in our neighborhood schools. Realtors may purchase a “Schoolhouse Bank” for $25 and then place it where they have a following. Realtors then collect the bank, 1 time per month and turn in the proceeds to our GRAR association. Funds received should mailed to GRAR, 660 Kenmoor Drive, SE, GR, MI 49546 with a notation for “Schoolhouse”
