More than two-thirds of all U.S. manufacturing jobs in 2015 were created in Michigan. With 2.7 million newly created private sector jobs, and only 30,000 of these in manufacturing, Michigan’s statistics, through November, 2015, indicate that 19,600 were added here, demonstrating U.S. dominance!
Credit to the auto industry, which experienced record sales, as virtually all manufacturing growth was in the auto industry. University of Michigan economists forecast a continued, albeit slower pace growth in this sector during these next two years, due to our maturing economic recovery, the strong U.S. dollar and China’s recession.
