HopCat:  Grand Rapids based Barfly Ventures, with 12 current locations, continue their expansion.  There are plans to open four new locations within the next 12 months in Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan and Florida.  St. Louis’ Delmar Loop location, will sport a 2-story venue, seating 245 people, with 30 draft beers, hard cider and an additional 70 rotating taps of specialty, hard-to-find or seasonal beers.  This site was chosen due to the location’s historic theater, music venues and local Loop Trolley.
FOUNDERS:  Our local Founders Brewing Company is planning a new taproom, in Midtown Detroit, near the “under construction” Little Caesars Arena and the existing Masonic Temple.  A new building will begin this summer with completion slated for winter 2017-18.  This newest venture will support job growth with an expected 100 staff workers needed.
