For over a decade, Kids’ Food Basket has been making sure that children have access to nutritious food so they can grow and learn.

The Allegan based, Perrigo Company and their charitable foundation have been benefactors to this organization since its inception.  Most recently the Perrigo Foundation has presented Kids’ Food Basket with a $130,000 donation:  $30,000 will go towards programming in Ottawa County for the purpose of sustaining 900 students at six different sites. The remaining $100,000 will be used to expand into Allegan County, helping to reach more at-risk children:  According to statistics, 24% of that population is made up of children under 18 years of age.

Kids’ Food Basket serves more than 8,000 children at 48 schools in Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Holland, with the help of 250 volunteers each day.  This organization is in the process of building its new home base on Leonard Street, NE
