WALKER

Betz Industries, a maker of molds and metal castings for the automobile industry, opened for business in 1933.  Next month this local company will be breaking ground on a 41,000-square-foot building adjacent to its Walker headquarters at 2121 Bristol Avenue, NW:  The site, once a sand pit, is scheduled to have the new building completed one year from now.  Betz currently employees 175 workers and will be adding another 15 positions upon the completion of its expansion.
 

GAINES TOWNSHIP

An Amazon distribution and warehouse facility is coming!  The Gaines Township Board has voted to create an industrial development district, encompassing approximately 100 acres at 4500 68^th Street.  The final site plans for Amazon’s new building have also been approved.  Albeit no ground-breaking currently, Amazon is hoping to move this project along as quickly as possible.
