To be a Swim Champion it takes true grit, hard work, staying focused and determined; along with hours of practicing in the pool & out!

 
It also takes a talented, kind and student-loving coach.  IT takes a person with compassion, common sense and one who loves a challenge. That coach is Butch Briggs!
Coach Briggs’ “Pioneer Girls” have just won another state swimming title; a record 20^th, with new pool records in four of the six events won by this miracle group of young ladies.  Chalking up an impressive total of 30 state championships during his reign as the East Grand Rapid’s boys & girls swim coach, it is refreshing to hear that this latest triumph is just as exciting & fun as the previous 29.

Congratulations to this awesome team and to their amazing coach!
